A spiral-bound book consisting of 23 black-and-white blind-contour drawings of a screw made in sequence and bound with no cover. In a closed loop, the book charts the circular degradation and reformation of an ordinary hardware screw as drawn from observation of the previous page without looking at the paper or lifting the pen. The first, least-degraded screw was drawn from observation of an actual screw, as it takes a screw to make a screw.

The pages are laser-printed on 300g acid-free paper and bound with a handwound tendril-like clear acrylic spiral, making each book unique.

It was first produced as a single copy during the course of a residency at Mass MoCA in 2023, and later reproduced in Aarhus, Denmark as an edition of 56.
